Last weekend we went to Ft. Worth to visit Tye's aunt and uncle and to take Ayden to the Ft. Worth Zoo and the Dallas World Aquarium. I was so excited to go on this trip first to get to visit with Doug and Brittney and second to go to the zoo (which is one of my favorite places in the world) and the aquarium (which we had never been to.)
We left early Friday morning and headed to the zoo as soon as we got into town. Ayden has been to two other zoos in her life the San Antonio Zoo and the Jacksonville Zoo in Flordia. So she knew exactly what to do, she loved looking at all the animals. In this picture she was checking out the monkeys! One really exciting thing is that Ayden learned what an elephant says while we were there. It is so cute she throws her arm in the air (like a trunk) and makes a elephant noise...its the best!
They had two white tigers and they loved all the attention. This tiger was just pacing back and forth and Ayden was trying to kiss him. I am just thankful that there was pretty thick glass between the tiger and my baby.
This gorilla was cracking me up he was actually posing for pictures. He would stand or sit a certain way for a couple minutes and then move, it was like he was modeling. I could have watched him all day! Toward the end of the day Ayden started getting restless because she wanted down to walk. She is crazy and has no sense of people or crowds so she would just run into a group of people and it was alittle difficult to chase her around. So...we decided to get her a baby leash. They had really cute little backpacks at the gift shop and one even had an elephant on it. Yes I know I am sure their are those out there who think that is terrible but...don't knock it until you try it...
Brittney was so great and got Ayden a ton of bath toys and play toys for the visit. I didn't have to bring anything. She even got Ayden alittle tent to play in while we were there, I think Ayden felt right at home!
On Saturday, we got up and headed to the aquarium. I was not expecting it to be so great. I thought that it was going to be just a bunch of fish but it was full of animals. They had monkeys, birds, crocodiles, giant otters, and soo many sea creatures. Ayden got to feed a bird (I think it was a toucan) a grape and she was so cute. She didn't even flinch when the bird ate it out of her hand. After that any bird she saw she would hold her hand out to it and just look at us like she wanted to feed it.
And yes...this is the leash:) She was so cute and it was wonderful. I didn't have to worry at all about her getting lost in a crowd or her getting into something she wasn't supposed to. She also loved being able to walk around and was so happy the whole time.
She even carried her own snacks in her backpack!
They had two really neat tunnels that you walked under and sea creatures swam above you. One was just fish and sting rays and the other was full of sharks. It was so neat and I think I could have sat there for hours watching those sharks swim above me. Ayden even noticed and liked watching the sharks.
This place was so neat because everything inside the building was alive. They even had a big waterfall right in the middle of the building. It was neat to me that alot of the animals lived together just like they would in the wild.
Aydee Bug trying to kiss the Madagascar penguins. She just loves everything!
On Sunday before we left we went to the park to feed the ducks and let Ayden play for awhile. I'll post pitcures of that later!!
I know where I'm going the next time I visit them!!!! That looks like so much fun!
