Myles is SIX!

Today is August 5th, Myles Lewis Mason's birthday!  It was truly just a wonderful day.  Myles was happy today.  This isn't unusual because Myles is just a happy kid.
I couldn't have imagined that 6 years ago at 1:56 when he came into this world that I'd love him as much as I do.
He makes me happy.  He makes me laugh ALL the time.
He reminds me to stop and enjoy the little things.
He loves all of God's creation from a leaf with a cool pattern to a frog jumping across the yard.  Everything is cool and everything is worth a second look in his world.
Nothing could make him happier than a package of M&M's or a piece of gum.
He is so sweet and OH SO cuddly.
Tonight, while we had "family movie night" which is what he chose to do for his fun thing today he sat in my lap and cuddled into my arms.  He never hesitates to come back for one more good night kiss.
He's helpful, he's witty, he's smart, he's caring and he loves to please others.
He has been and will continue to be a TRUE joy in our lives.  Our family is so full and so complete with him as our little number #3.

Myles, YOU are SIX years old today.  I just can't believe it.  Last night when I told you that it was the last day you'd be five years old you got a little sad.  You told me that you loved being a whole hand old.  I told you that now you'd get to hold up TWO hands.
We love you more than you will ever, ever know.  You are OUR baby Myles and will always be such a blessing to us.  Daddy and I can't wait to see what year 6 looks like for you!  What ever happens we know that you'll bring the FUN, the LAUGHTER and the LOVE to us all!

Summer FUN #2

Summer has marched on without a beat.  We've been busy but have had relaxing days at home too.  I always wish the days were longer.  I love the ages of my kids right now.  They are loud and crazy and it's chaotic but when it's not, it's not home.
We all went to White River Day Camp.  Tye had to stay home to run a sandfighter and who knows what all else with this crazy weather and Sydney had "cousin camp" with Spencer at B and Shell's.  The Blevins boys stayed in our camper and I couldn't be more thankful for such SWEET boys and friends for my kids.  We are so thankful to raise our kids along side Link and Monica.
I taught the 3rd grade class and had so much fun, especially with Kam and Amy there to help.
Myles Lewis just being Myles Lewis!
My sweetest girl in the world and NO I don't mean Lucy.  That cat drives me bonkers!
Sunday picture before church.  We don't always take pictures.  Sometimes it's my idea and sometimes it's their idea.  This morning it was their idea!
I caught this little sweetie reading in his bed with his robe on.  Sometimes Ryan can be the cutest, youngest little old man.  He's just continued to grow and mature and I'm so thankful to be his Momma.
We went to Gail's Crossing with B and Shell, Kenzie and Spencer.  It was fun and I loved getting to watch my kids play and climb and get SUPER dirty.  We cooked hot dogs, correction B and Tye cooked hot dogs, on a fire and they were the best hot dogs ever.
Future White River campers and the best of friends!
Mallory, Sydney and Asher
Childhood is about watching TV in Amazon boxes for no reason.
Sydney had a eye doctor appointment last week and everything is looking great with her precious little eyes.  Dr. Riley said that her Esotropia has corrected it self remarkably well.  She still needs her glasses for now.  That's okay though, she likes them!
Indians...not sure what tribe.
 hahaha
The kids and I made our first batch of real homemade ice cream.  We talked about why and how the salt makes the ice cream freeze.  The kids loved making it and we all loved eating it!
We had a game night with Poppa and Honey.
Ryan and Poppa in a serious game of Chess.  Poppa might have taught Ryan to play a little too well.
Also, this picture cracks me up.  These two are the SAME person.  It's so crazy!
I absolutely love that she still likes to dress up her baby.  Matching pajamas for the win!
Honey is seriously such a trooper!  Twister had us all twisted up!
She loves her strawberry swimsuit and of course socks with shoes.
This Sunday was my idea!
I'm glad I got to sneak some pictures while they were at camp.
Ryan built a combine out of Legos.  He did an amazing job.  This took him about 30 minutes which BLOWS my mind!
We celebrated Father's day.  If Tye looks tired in the picture it's because he was tired.  He's been on a tractor for nearly two solid months.  It's been a crazy season filled with crazy weather.  We are all still alive and happy though.  What more could we ask for?!
We've still got lots of summer adventures planned!  I can't wait to enjoy every single day with this precious family of mine.

Myles's program and LAST day of school!

Myles had his end of the year program a couple weeks ago and he did amazing.  He is always so handsome in his school uniforms but I especially love it when he wears his tie.

My sweet, baby Myles!
They sang several songs.  One of my favorites was "Deep in the Heart of Texas" complete with twangy accents and cowboy hats!
What I'm most proud of is Myles learning so many Bible verses this year.  He learned one verse for each letter of the alphabet.  He learned 26 verses!!  For the program he said "O, Oh give thanks to the Lord for he is good because his mercies endure forever. Psalm 118:1."  We practiced and practiced and when he was handed the microphone he did wonderful.  Writing God's word on his heart is what will give him true peace and joy in this life.  I couldn't be more proud.
Listening to these sweet kids sing about Jesus makes me tear up every single time.
From the very first day of school...
and all the days in between...

to the last day of school!
Myles has not only grown in height but he has grown in knowledge.  He can READ!  He can write, and he can color like a champ.  We are so proud of how hard he has worked this year.

Now onto KINDERGARTEN, my sweet, sweet boy!  You will always be my baby Myles...even next year when you're six and the big man on campus!

The Most Wonderful Time of Year!

We've had the best December so far!  The month really goes by fast when your kids count down and ask every day how many MORE days until Christmas.
It snowed and the kids were so excited!  I didn't want to get out all of our ski/snow stuff because every time I do they play for like 15 minutes and then I'm left with a HUGE pile of things.  They went out in their pajamas, coats, hat and gloves.  Just to prove me wrong they played outside for nearly an hour!
 Ryan built a tiny snowman.

Sydney didn't want to go out at first but then changed her mind and loved it.  She loved throwing snowballs at her Daddy.
We spent a Christmas afternoon with Poppa and Honey.  One of the things we did was go to Holland Gardens and walked around.  I love that store so much and so do the kids.  Everyone had already picked an ornament this year so we didn't get one at Holland Gardens like we usually do.  This year Ayden picked a pig, Ryan picked an eagle, Myles picked a karate kid (that looks just like him) and Sydney picked an elephant ornament.  They are all so cute and fit them and this last year of our life so perfectly.
We also saw SANTA!
The real one...he's got little round glasses, and a REAL beard.  Trust me Myles pulled on it just to make sure.  He also knew Nonnie, our scout elf.
Sydney liked Santa from a distance.  She was trying to make a fast get away!
We've done Christmas crafts.  The kids made ornaments and Christmas trees to hang on the doors of their rooms.
We had our Christmas program at school last Sunday.  Myles did amazing.  He was so perfect.  He did every motion and sang every word.  I'm most proud that he learned Luke 2:7-14.  He is writing God's word on his little heart and it makes my heart so happy!

Another milestone in Myles's world is he LOST his FIRST tooth!!  He is officially a big kid now!  He left his tooth under his pillow and the tooth fairy brought him "TWO WHOLE DOLLARS!!"
Just a few more days and it will be Christmas.  I can't wait to celebrate with my sweet kids, my wonderful husband and the rest of our amazing families.  Once again, so many things to be thankful for!

Myles is FIVE

Myles is five years old...a whole HAND!  We can't believe how fast he's growing and becoming every thing God made him to be!

He's sweet.
He tells me that I'm pretty and always compliments what I'm wearing.  He picks me flowers and gives me rocks all the time and I always stop to admire the treasures he gives.
 He's cuddly.
He's always been.  I remember when he was a baby he would just melt into you.  He would fit perfectly in your arms and he'd let me rock him for hours.  He will still come sit in my lap with his "blankie" and watch his favorite shows like Wild Kratts, Blaze and the Monster Machines, NatGeo or Doug.
 He's FUNNY!
He makes me laugh every single day.  He makes up songs (just like his Daddy), he tells jokes and has such a witty soul.  He's a party looking for a place to happen!
 He's tough.
He can run really fast.  He's really good at almost everything but has no competitive drive whatsoever!  Once again, he's just like his Daddy.
 He loves animals.
He's always catching things like frogs, birds, chickens or turtles.  He loves Lucy our cat and Oliver his guinea pig.  He loves all creatures big or small!
 He's encouraging.
He's so happy to see his brother and sisters succeed.  He'll cheer them on and clap and truly be proud.  He'll also always remind you if you've told someone they were getting a spanking.  He doesn't forget anything!
He sees the beauty in everything.
I've never know a child that would stop and examine something so closely only to say "isn't this beautiful Momma."
He's one of a kind.
A perfect creation that God made him to be.  We love everything about him and always remind him that God made him JUST who he is, His child.
Myles Lewis, I really can't believe that you are five.  YOU my child are my favorite 5 year old boy in the whole world.
I love how excited you get at smallest things like chocolate milk and donuts, I love how you can look through a book and have 20 questions, I love how you thank God for toothbrushes and firetrucks, I love that you always have a big smile on your face, I love how you make up songs and dance moves to go with it, I love how I have to check your pockets for rocks when I do the laundry, I love how you still carry around your blanket like you did when you were two, I love how every time we pass an ambulance with it's lights on you ask to pray for the people inside, I love how much you love chicken nuggets, fish sticks, apples and bubble gum, I love how you are so laid back and give into what everyone else what's to do, I love how after you watch Wild Kratts you pretend to be that animal for the day,  I LOVE you Myles Lewis.  Every single thing about you and Daddy and I are so thankful we get to be your parents.  We are so proud of you.
