Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses

We spent last week in Port Aransas and had the best vacation!  Ayden's been to the beach once when she was a baby so this was the first time my kids have really seen the ocean!  It's my favorite place on Earth.  I just can't get over the water, the waves, the salt and the animals that you either see swimming or that wash up on the beach.  I love it all!  Another one of God's amazing creations and I'm so thankful I got to show and tell my kids all about it!

When we got there we ate lunch in Corpus at a restaurant on the beach.  The kids walked around on the beach and played in the sand.  The Lexington is behind them in this picture.  We didn't get a chance to tour it but we will someday.
They loved how their little feet would bury in the sand when the water would wash over them.  It's such a neat feeling!
At one of the souvenir shops there was a HUGE shark in front.  We could actually walk through it and the kids played in it for a while.
There was pool at the condo we stayed at and it was perfect for the kids to play.  Everyday we would leave the beach and play in the pool at the house until supper and bed time.
The seagulls were CrAZy.  They really are like the ones on Finding Nemo...mine, mine, mine, mine...the kids dropped a few goldfish and before we knew it we were surrounded by them.  Tye and Sydney started feeding them and Sydney loved it.  She is just like Tye and loves birds.
 My sweet Bubba-loo!
Honey and Sydney playing in the sand.
Myles burying his sand truck.  He told me that it got stuck in the mud!
 Sweet sisters!
We took family pictures and they turned out so good.
 My sweet babies!
Ryan and Myles built a sand tunnel.
We build sand kingdoms.  It was so fun playing with the kids.  It was one thing I was really looking forward too.  Everyone loved it.  We would build it up and Sydney a.k.a Godzilla baby would tear it down!

We went on a Pirate ship that sailed out to sea for about an hour.  It was so fun and the kids really loved it.  There were pirates, gun fights, treasure hunts, dancing, face painting and snow cone eating!
It happened to be during nap time.  The older three do fine without a nap but Sydney isn't quite there yet.  She got hot, sleepy and hungry which isn't a good combo for her...well for anyone really.  Tye and I took turns holding, rocking and looking out the window with her.
 Arghhhhhh matey!
This little shark celebrated his 4th birthday on the trip!  We spent the entire day at the beach and he got to wear his favorite swim suit.  He told me "this is the best day ever."
Our little beach set up.  This canopy was amazing!
These two peas in a pod loved playing in the sand while Ayden and Myles swam together.
I'm thankful that my boys are best friends, my girls are best friends and then each sibling has a "buddy" as they call it.  Ayden and Myles are buddies and Ryan and Sydney are buddies.
Poppa and Honey brought a Ninja Turtle box kite and we flew it on the beach!
After five days of fun we were pooped!  We were so sad to leave the beach the next day but like Ayden said "at least we got to come."  I'm thankful for family vacations.  We always make so many fun memories and it makes it even better when Poppa and Honey are there!!
Until we see you again Port Aransas!!
