Spring Break 2018

We went to Durango, Colorado this year and skied at Purgatory.  We had such a fun time with Tye's family.  We skied, played games, ate a lot of good food, laughed and just spent quality time together.  It always goes by so fast and we are left excited about the "next" year of skiing!
We stayed in a condo right beside the ski lifts.  It was amazing and so great for the little kids.  There was a big hill right outside the door and the kids loved to climb it.
Kam Kam and Myles skiing together.
Me trying to convince Sydney that sledding is FUN!
B and Sydney
ZZ and Spencer
Myles loved pretending to be a penguin and sliding down on his belly.
Ayden is such a good cousin.  She's always taking care of Spencer.
Sydney and her best buddy.  She loves him and he loves her.  He skied down and she was so proud of him that she ran to give him hug and tell him YAY Spencer!
After we skied we went sledding every night but one.  I have no idea how these children have so much energy!
I love this picture.  Mandy got some good pictures of the kids. She always captures our fun perfectly.  She was such an important part of the week.  She kept Sydney the most but at one point kept four out of the five kids so we could ski.  We are so very thankful for her and all her help.  We couldn't have survived without her!
Ayden did amazing once again.  She is so athletic and not afraid to try.  I love her spirit and her drive to conquer new things.  She took ski school one day and by the second day could ski faster than me.  She can ski blues and does a great job of making her turns.  I'm so proud of her!
This little boy did amazing too.  Ryan is more cautious and things have to be his idea before he'll really give it any effort.  He took ski school one morning and the instructor wanted him back after lunch because he was doing so well.  When he sets his mind to it he'll do it.  The last day we were there he skied by himself without any help from anyone.  He went up the mountain countless times and even told me that he was "never going to sleep again only ski."  We were so proud and impressed at how much he improved.
Myles gets the award for having the best attitude and being the happiest kid.  He always just so fun no matter what we are doing or where we are at.  He'll make it fun and that's one of the many reasons we love him so.  He took ski school one morning and the instructor told me that he was the best, funniest kid she'd had all day.  She told me that she enjoyed teaching him and wanting him to come back to her class.  It made me proud of him that he can spread his joy to others and make their day brighter.  He was Shell's ski buddy the first day and she's the one who taught him how to get off the chair lift skiing.  He was able to ski by holding on to the poles and he really improved so much from last year.  He put more weight on his skis and was able to control them.  We were so proud of him!
This little girl...is such a ham!  She is such a little princess and knows exactly what she wants when she wants it.  She's a toot actually.  She didn't like her ski pants, boots, hat, gloves, turtleneck or googles.  She didn't want to have anything to do with her ski outfit but loved that her skies were pink.  The last day she decided (she's a lot like Ryan in this fact) that she didn't mind her stuff after all and wanted to ski.  After a couple runs down the bunny slope she wanted to go sit in a chair with Mandy.  She wanted her shades and some snacks.  She's such a mess!
Coming off the chair lift and she is smiling!
Ayden skied all day every day!
The very last day we rushed to get back on the lift to make one final run.  The lifts were closing and ended up we were the last ones coming down the mountain.  The ski patrol make final runs and ended up skiing behind us.  The offered to take the kids down the mountain on their snowmobiles and the kids eyes light up!  The were so excited to ride so we let them take the kids down which in turn let us ski down pretty quickly.  When we got to the bottom the kids were smiling from ear to ear and now they want to grow up and be on the ski patrol!
We had such a fun time and I'm so thankful for time spent with family.  Brent and Michelle worked and talked so much to the kids about how to ski and I'm thankful that they have grandparents that can still do things like this!  They are the ones who taught Tye to ski, then years later taught me to ski and are now teaching our children.  It's such a fun thing to watch.
We had a wonderful break this year and are not ready for school tomorrow!
