July is OVER tomorrow! Good grief summer has flown by for us and I'm sure for everyone else as well. This month has been such a relief compared to last month for our family. I had back surgery and it was so successful! Tye said that when they wheeled me back into the room and the nurse laid my bed flat I started crying! Everyone was concerned and he said that I said that I haven't been able to lay flat on my back in nearly three years!!! I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to have surgery and be healed. I haven't gone one day without thanking God. I will never take for granted something as simple as standing, sitting and laying without pain. The kids went camping with my parents and then stayed with Brent and Michelle for the rest of the time. I'm so grateful for supportive parents and in-laws. I was able to recover for the first couple weeks and I know it did wonders for my emotional and physical health.
Rusty has been my buddy and hasn't left my side in weeks. I love this little guy!
Myles will be 7 in a few days. I can't believe my baby Myles is so big. He makes me happy and I love how much he loves animals. He is such a combination of me and Tye. He LOVES birds and loves to sit and look out the window with his binoculars. He's got his bird fact file book to spot each species. He's such a JOY!
Our sweet, sweet Bailey died this week. She was a nine year old Great Dane. Tye and I got her right before Ayden turned one. She was our first pet together. We all loved her and will miss her going on night rides with us, laying on the back porch blocking the door and eating all of our scraps. We loved her so much. It's much harder losing a pet when you're a parent. Seeing my babies cry and grieve the loss of their friend and pet was heartbreaking.
We had to miss our trip to Possum Kingdom this year. The back surgery I had is a 6 week recovery. We were sad to miss but know the reunion of seeing friends will be that much sweeter next year. Luckily, the kids still got to go with B and Shell. I'm thankful for grandparents that are brave enough to take four kids to the lake for 5 days in over 100 degree weather. Bless them!
Myles skiing.
Ayden kneeboarding.
After PK, the kids came HOME! I missed them so much and are thankful they are home. We've been taking it easy around here until August 14th (which is when I'm officially released to bend, twist and pick up things heavier than 8 lbs.) and it's been wonderful. Sydney loves chalk and always draws the most beautiful masterpieces. It's our house with the "bushes" and all.
Elsa is Sydney's favorite character. She loves dressing up and for me to braid her hair in an Elsa braid. She told me that she is not "exactly" like Elsa because her hair is not white it is "yellow."
This kid makes me laugh, think and dream of the future. He's so much like me and such a hard worker like his Daddy. He is growing up and makes us so proud. He is also weird sometimes...but who isn't?Kam came over to stay with us for few days before she starts back to school. It's always fun when Kam Kam comes over. Here is Ayden and Kam laying out working on their tan. I love how close they are and am thankful Ayden has a friend in her aunt.
Sydney and Shell in the boat at Possum Kingdom. LOVE!

Myles and Sydney doing a little painting.
Our beautiful crop! I know so many friends that have been praying for our cotton. We are so thankful and want to show our gratitude! LOOK at this cotton. Praise the Lord for answered prayers!
One morning last week we ("we" meaning kids and me watching) went to work cows with Grandaddy, Brent and Tye. It was very entertaining and I was so proud of how hardworking my "big" kids are. I loved watching them contribute to something. They'll be running this outfit before we know it!Sydney watching and hoping the "baby" calves are okay without their mommas.
Everyone has their special job.
Two more weeks of recovery to go! Everyday I'm thankful!
Ayden at White River Youth Camp this year. She had a WONDERFUL week and get this "didn't want it to end!" We always love our time at camp. Tye and Kambry taught without me this year and I'm already counting down the days until 5th session 2021!
All the cousins on the tube!
Momma and her Rye Man!
I love her so much.
Baby chicks are always a highlight of our summer. Such sweet, soft, fluffy little bundles of newness! This is my view. Sitting on the patio and watching these little ones play brings me so much joy. Often, I sit here and think how blessed I am and how thankful I am that my days consist of this sight.
