February was so good to us. It seemed slower than usual, and I’m not sad about that one bit. We’ve been home a lot, mainly because of weather, but it gave us the opportunity to spend time together. We’ve had lots of family movie nights, played many, many games, painted nails, shot guns and relaxed.
Two of my favorite guys celebrated their birthday this month. Tye turned...well...he’s getting old and Ryan, my FIRST baby boy, turned 9 years old. I can’t believe how “big” Ryan is now. I don’t necessarily mean physically, I mean in maturity. He is so helpful, such an amazing big brother and really an all around amazing kid. I’m so, so blessed that he his mine and that I am the one who gets to watch, encourage, help and love him for the rest of my life. He’s my boy and I’m so thankful.
Sydney got out of the bathtub and was SO tickled at her hair. She said, “I’m glad it doesn’t always look like this.”
My little artists!
Myles has been wanting a fish in a bowl “just plain” with nothing else in there. So, he used his own money and bought a bowl and a betta fish. He named her Dorothy. He loves her and she loves him. It doesn’t take much to make this kid happy!
Baker got to come spend a couple days with us. He is such a good boy and we loved having him here. The kids ate lunch outside and were so precious sitting together. Ayden and Ryan sat on either side of Baker to make sure he didn’t fall off the table. I’ve got such thoughtful kids.
Baker LOVED riding the tractor with Tye.
My sweet girls doing “nails” as Sydney says. Ayden is the best big sister.
Tye and I got to go on a date this month! I love him more now then I did when we got married. It’s funny how marriage works. Some days I want to roll my eyes more than once in an hour, some days I’m on cloud 9 but all days I love him. Thankful for time to get to finish a sentence without hearing “MOMMA.”
Sydney made Ryan a cotton plant “you know the cotton plants before there is actually cotton on them” for his birthday out of popsicle sticks. He said he loved it and they hugged. Just the response she was looking for Bubs!
Tye did some work on my parents patio this month. It’s fun when you get to GO with your dad to work because he’s working in your grandparents back yard!
Ryan got a new series of books from B and Shell for his birthday. It’s all about hunting and fishing. He read his first book in two days! I love that he loves to read. I hope he never grows out of it!
B and Shell took Ayden, Ryan and Myles skiing this month. They went to Durango, Colorado. The kids had a blast and I loved hearing all their stories when they got home. B and Shell said they skied great and were such good kids while they were gone. I am so glad they had this time with B and Shell, just them. These are the kind of memories that last a lifetime. I can’t wait for us all to go next year. I know they’ll leave me in the dust!
While they were gone, Tye and I got to spend quality time with Sydney Marr! She missed them at first but then decided she wouldn’t mind being an only child. She is something ELSE and I love every bit of her!
Big kids riding the lift!
Tye took the boys spot lighting...looks like Ryan got revenge on his rascally rabbit!
Myles’s face while Tye blew out his candles is hysterical. He thought we needed to call the fire department.
If you see my child and think “he needs a hair cut” you’re right, he does. However, he wants to grow his hair out so I’m letting him. He’s got a certain style he’s going for and when ask if it could look like John Denver I said, “Ummm, no.” We came to a compromise and I think he’s adorable and he thinks he got what he wants. WIN-WIN
Why can he just be normal?
We had a winter storm that lasted about a week. The ice on the trees was absolutely beautiful! I busted my tail on our front porch trying to get a good picture. Hahaha, then felt it for a couple days.
Two months into 2021 and I’d say it’s been a great year. Once again, thankful for my family, friends and for my health. These things should never be taken for granted! March, here we come!
