I guess there is a theme this year of doing two months at a time. WHEW! Where do the days go? I think as the kids get older the clock ticks faster and faster. I’ve been told by so many of the wiser generation to enjoy every second because it goes by in a flash. Tye and I have been told that these are the best days of our lives. I know it’s all true…and that’s what causes me to get a lump in my throat and an ache in my chest. These truly are the best days.
The kids got to spend the night with B and Shell. They had a weenie roast and s’mores! They also got to have a slumber party on the patio. They had so much fun! It’s truly the best that they get to spend time with both sets of their grandparents on a weekly basis! It was Ayden’s turn to have a night at Mandy’s house. She got to invite some friends and from what I hear they had an amazing time. Movies, swimming, and staying up SUPER late! Mandy is one of a kind and I’m thankful my kids get to have her as their GREAT aunt!
Sydney loves to do experiments in the backyard. Her curiosity is so precious!
OOPS! Tye was helping me pull up a plant. I’m technically not suppose to “pull” that hard (I’m super careful after back surgery) so he came to save the day. When it came, it really came and he went flying in the mud. Neither of us could do anything but LAUGH! I so enjoy my life with this man. We laugh every single day and that’s so good for my soul.
We got a new pet! We actually got several new animals. Cruz’r is a 7 year old miniature donkey and he makes us all happy! He’s so precious and is getting use to his new home. Myles wanted him so badly and has proved to be quite the donkey whisperer. Cruz’r loves Myles and Myles adores him.
My bubby. I love this boy so very much. I’m so glad he’s my boy!
Well, sprained my ankle and am going to be limping around for the next couple weeks. It’s not broken, just badly sprained and I’m so thankful for that. I wish I had a better story other than falling off the side of my own shoe and crashing to the ground like a ton of bricks. It’s fine, I’m fine…everything is fine. Haha
In April, Ryan got to have his time at Mandy’s house. They went to a movie, to get breakfast (Ryan’s second favorite thing to eat at restaurants) and to Ralph’s Records. Ryan got some new records and cd’s. He’s not only a great musician but he loves to listen to all types of music. I do enjoy hearing it all and I know one day I’ll miss it blaring from his room.
Tye’s favorite animal, our chickens. Tye loves all things in bird form. Haha, our ducks have even grown on him!
I took this picture because I looked over and she looked so old. She is growing up so fast. She’s beautiful inside and out. What an incredible daughter I have.
Cruz’r was VERY interested in our pigs. He’s never seen one before. We like to think they are friends and maybe even talk to each other like on Charlotte’s Web. The kids are convinced anyway and it’s so fun to play along!
The sprinkler goes under the trampoline at least once a week and some form of popsicle comes right after.
The girls spent all afternoon cleaning the playhouse and getting it ready for summer!
In April, we got to go to LTC. We love and look forward to our weekend there every year. It’s so refreshing to see so many families and kids competing in God centered activities. What a blessing it was to see some of our Sunset family and get to spend the weekend with lots of our Idalou family. Ayden participated in sign language, Bible Bowl, photography and daily devotion. We are so very proud of her!Tye and Ayden finishing up a math lesson. I’m so thankful Tye likes math (SO weird) and can teach Ayden. Math makes my eyes cross and my head hurt. Haha
Easter was a little different this year. LTC is over Easter weekend. When we got home from Dallas we went to Poppa and Honey’s house for supper.
We celebrated Easter with B and Shell over Mother’s Day weekend. Everyone loved it and it turned out to be such a relaxing day!
Family time on our boat. These have turned out to be some of the best days yet.
Tye started planting this week. It’s not a good year, it hasn’t rained and it’s not looking promising. Tye may not have crop this year. However, he gets up every single morning and he tries. He’s faithful and strong and I’m blessed by his attitude daily. I love him and the example he is to me and our children.
We got to go riding with some friends from church this month. It was the BEST day! The kids had so much fun riding with their friends and we can’t wait to go back.
Daddy and his mini-me. Ayden may look more like me but she is so much like her daddy. She’s quiet and shy and processes all her emotions just like Tye. I’m glad they have each other and I’m glad that she’s a daddy’s girl. I was too and I still cherish my relationship with my dad.
Have I mentioned that she can also shoot a shotgun like no other?!
Workin’ hard or hardly workin’! We are always having fun even if it’s at Tractor Supply on a random Tuesday night.
Ryan can shoot a 12 gauge shotgun like a grown man. His coaches are always so impressed with how well he handles his gun. I know he’s going to be quite something with that thing someday.
Ryan got some steers. Willie, Waylon, Johnny and Merle. I think kids raising animals of any kind helps them develop a sense of compassion. I’ve seen it with Ryan and I wouldn’t want them growing up any other way.
A little baseball in the backyard.
We finished school for the year! I am so proud of all of us really. Homeschooling is such a group effort and everyone has to play their part. The kids love it, I love it and we are thriving!
Next up, 7th, 5th, 3rd and 1st!
Rusty is still living his best life.
Myles and Sydney made their very own zip line. They are best friends and work together so well.
Myles is our clay thrower! He’ll be shooting next season and he’s so ready for his turn!
Ryan participated in LTC this year too. It was technically his first year (COVID) and he did amazing as well. He participated in Bible Bowl, song leading and art. We are so proud of him too!
Ayden was working on her tan and Rusty decided her face was the perfect spot to sit. Hahaha
They make my world go round!
Up on daddy’s plow…not helping fix a fence.
Myles all of a sudden has taken a big interest in reading his Bible everyday by himself. I can’t tell you how good it does my heart to look over and see this. THIS is what matters and this is what will get him through life, good times and bad. This is an answer to prayer.
Ayden made Chicken Noodle Soup for B and Shell for lunch and then ate with them. She did everything but pour in the noodles in the boiling soup. For some reason that’s what freaks her out! Haha
What brothers do in the pool…
What sweet sisters do in the pool.
Date night with my main squeeze!
Childhood is about eating the rest of the ice cream right out of the carton.
My sweet sissy
Ayden and Sydney got pigs this month. Buddy and Dottie are quite the pair and are becoming super sweet piggies.
Next up June and July, our two busiest months. We have so many fun things on the calendar, including VBS, camp and Kam and Dakota’s wedding. This summer is going to be so, so good. I’m just lucky I get to spend it with some pretty incredible kids and their daddy!
