Tye and I had the privilege of going to Washington D.C. on an almost all expense paid trip! Tye is on the board of Farm Bureau and had a conference in D.C. to lobby for agriculture. We went a day early so we would be able to sight see just a little. We have both been when we were in junior high but seeing everything as an adult has so much more meaning. We were able to go to almost all the Smithsonian museums. You can literally spend a day in each but we flew through them because we didn't have much time. We went to the National Gallery of Art and got to see several famous artist. I have tons of pictures so I decided to just post our favorite things. Here is the National Archives Museum which holds the Constitution and Declaration of Independence among other neat things. It was amazing to see those old documents!
On Tuesday, Tye spend the whole day at the Capitol in meetings and I went with all the other wives to tour Mount Vernon. So cool to see George Washington's house! He was one of the greatest men in our history.
We got to go on a private tour of the Capitol. Tye spent two days there in meetings with congressman and hopefully reminded them of what the small town farmer needs!
Tye's favorite museum was the National Air and Space Museum. It was so amazing all the planes, rockets and other space stuff they had. I even got to go to the moon!
We got to go on a night tour to see all the National Monuments. My favorite was the World War II memorial. Tye loved the Washington Monument.
Lincoln Memorial. Best President EVER!
Last night in front of the White House!
We had such a great time in D.C. Wish we would have gotten to spend some time with Matt and Ashley Pittman while we were there but definitely next time!
