First few weeks at home!

Sydney's first few weeks at home have been so good.  We got to come home on Monday, September 28th the day after she was born.  The first night was rough and so were the next four following ones.  Tye and I were getting a little nervous that this little girl wasn't going to sleep as well as the other three.  We finally figured out that Sydney doesn't like to be swaddled!  We tried putting her in a fleece sleepsack and she did great!  She sleeps about 4 hours between the first two feedings and then will go 2 1/2 to 3 after that.  Man, after 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep I feel like a million bucks!
Ayden, Ryan and Myles stayed for almost two weeks with B & Shell.  Yes, they are amazing and YES we are so thankful for them!!  It gave us a chance to figure out Sydney a little bit and spend sometime getting in a lot of snuggles with her!  We saw at least one of the kids almost everyday.  We would have one, or two of them come down here for a few hours or we would go up to B & Shell's to have supper.  So we got to ease into having four littles and it was awesome!
When I say I haven't put her down I'm not kidding...I really haven't.  She sleeps in her bassinet and on occasion will get in her swing or bouncer but other than that we have been holding her.  She is just to sweet not too!
We have had some perfectly timed rains.  I was so worried that Tye wouldn't really get to spend much "newborn" time with her because of stripping.  Thankfully that hasn't been the case at all.  He has been able to spend just as much time with her as he has the others and we are both so thankful for that.  This little stage doesn't last long...before we know it we will have to beg her to sit with us!
After about two weeks her umbilical cord fell off and she was able to have a real bath.  She hated it!  She screamed and screamed until she turned purple.  It broke my heart into a million pieces.  We have finally figured out a little system that cuts the crying down to about half :)
Poor baby after her traumatic bath.  She is so cute sucking her thumb though!
When Sydney was two weeks old she went to church for the first time.  She wore a little white dress that was hand made for Kenzie when she was a baby by Sue Maxey (Granny).  Granny was Sydney's great-great Grandmother.  It's so special to me that her and Ayden get to wear dresses passed down by her aunts.  Thank you Shell for keeping them and sharing with my girls.
