First and Last!

This was our first and last camping trip of the year!  It was our first camping trip in our new camper.  We got it about a month ago and are so excited about the space we have now.  We have two sets of bunk beds and so there is a spot for each of my sweet babies!
Our trip to Lake Benbrook started off extremely rocky.  We had TWO blow-outs on the way.  It took us 4 1/2 hours to get to Abilene.  I'm so thankful for Brent who drove to us stranded on the side of road with a tire.  For the next blow out my parents caught up with us and my Dad helped Tye get stuff fixed.  We decided to spend the night in Abilene, get new tires the next morning and head to the lake next day.
I just want to brag on my kiddos for a minute.  They were absolutely wonderful the entire trip.  It was long, it was tiring and it was so disappointing.  They colored and talked and looked out the window and made the best of a hard situation.  They are such sweeties and I'm thankful they are mine.
When we got to the camp ground we set up the hammock and had huge lollipops that Poppa and Honey bought the kids at Cracker Barrel.
Ryan loved this huge leaf pile.  He built it up high and then tore it down.  He threw leaves in the air and had the best time.
Until...he got bite by three fire ants and a scorpion.  This poor guy scared me to death!!  It was getting dark and he was sitting at the picnic table still kinda crying and not really stopping.  I knew that he was carrying on more than usual.  Ryan is tough and may cry but doesn't keep on and on about stuff.  It was late and they hadn't napped so I took him in the camper to let him shower first while everyone else finished up eating.  When I got him into the light he was beat red and his face and eyelids were swollen.  He was scratching all over so I thought maybe he still had ants on him.  I ripped his clothes off and he was broken out in HUGE hives all over his body.  He was so red, so swollen and I've never seen raised huge hives like that before.  I yelled at Tye and my dad to come in the camper.  They looked over Ryan and we made sure he could breath.  He said he could and acted like he could so Tye gave him some Benadryl.  I let him take a bath and relax for a bit so I could make sure he was okay before bed.  When it was all over I cried.  I'm getting better at staying calm during scary situations but man when it's over it always hits me.  He's my baby and I felt so helpless.  His hand was swollen for two days after that.  You could completely tell where the scorpion stung him.  I hope he never has to go through that again!
We went to Six Flags on Saturday!  My parents bought the kids tickets so it was the cheapest Six Flags trip we will ever take!  The kids loved it.  There are so many rides that they can go on and they aren't scared of anything.

 Silly Ayden!
Sydney's new trick!
Sunday morning a cold front came through.  We cooked breakfast and then loaded the camper to head home. This was our last camping trip this year.  I can't wait to make more memories in our new camper.  Tye is going to start harvesting next week.  I'm so thankful we got to spend this time together.  Especially doing my favorite thing in the world...camping!!
